Happy one year to me!

Time indeed flies so fast!

I remember June of last year when I was looking for job opportunities at Jobstreet, then I saw that JFC is looking for accountants. I hesitated at first thinking JFC is one of the biggest companies in the country, and I had my doubts that it would hire a fresh college graduate. But I did try. I passed my resume online. I didn’t raise my hopes though. I also applied for San Miguel and IBM.

After few days, a guy named MIGUEL BONGATO texted me, inviting me for an interview at Jollibee. He told me to look for Ms. Bea Anonas.

I remember then, I always took off at Megamall and still walk a few blocks from there to my office. It was after a month when I learned that FXs do pass at my building. Booo me! Upon arriving at Jollibee Centre for my first examination, I looked for Ms Bea. I told the receptionist, “I’m here for an interview with Ms. Bea ALONZO”. HAHAHA! The receptionist laughed and asked me: “Did you mean, Ms. Bea Anonas?”. Geeeez. Fail attempt to make an impression! Hahaha!

I took the exam. It was okay. I didn’t know they would make me take an accounting exam though. IT WAS HARD! No choices. Hardest accounting exam I took of all the job examinations I’ve taken! Luckily, after an hour, Sir Miguel, (who was stunned by my beauty HAHAHHA, peace S’ Migs!) told me to go back next week since Ms Bea was on out of town.

Then came my interview with her. She asked me conditional questions which I found very challenging. They’re so out of nowhere! Hahaha. It was very interesting! She recommended me for another interview with my soon-to-be team leader, Ms Alice Huvalla.

When I first saw M’ Alice, the first thing I thought of her was that she’s very sweet and kind. During my interview , I never felt any form of fear. It was a smooth conversation. We were laughing the whole time. I remember her telling me: “I like you”. :)
Then I got hired!
Fast forward to my first day of work. JULY 01, 2010.
When I was introduced with my soon-to-be colleagues, I was wearing a green long sleeves, black slacks (Mom’s) and black 3-inch high heels shoes. They asked me where I could associate myself and when I told them : FASHION, (with the clothes I’m wearing), they raised eyebrows! Hahaha. After few months, my friends told me that they really didn’t believe I have interest with fashion and modeling since they didn’t see that in me on my first day. Hahaha! At least, the believed me now :p
In my one year in JWS, a lot of things happened. Hurtful, happy, unforgettable moments! Let me share of you some!
BOWLING EXPERIENCE
I joined the bowling tournament and won a GC for having a strike! It was fun though the only ball i could carry was #6!
I GOT DRUNK!
People who knew me know how I hate alcohol and how hard it is for me to convince to have one. It was here when I really got so drunk and did some silly things. A night to FORGET! hahaha!
ISSUES + NEW FRIENDSHIP
Issues are part of the workplace and I am no exception to that. For months, I had a status war with certain people at work. Good thing, it got resolved October last year. New friends <3
SPOOKTACULAR (Halloween Party)

I was chosen to be the head of our department for the Halloween event. We won 1st place and Greenwich GCs worth 5000! :)
MY 1st BIRTHDAY~

My first time to celebrate my birthday with so many people. Usually kasi, it was just me and my friends and family. (Lagi kasi sem break)
They gave me 30pcs Ferrero Rocher and a cake! :D
1st Chirstmas Party

Two Christmas parties — one for the whole JWS and another for Financial and Accounting II! I won a washing machine from JWS xmas party raffle and a 1-kilo Delmonte Catsup from F&A2 party. I’m so lucky!
February photo contest

I joined the photo contest for valentine’s day last February and I won as best in composition. They gave me a cake! ;)
These are some of the highlights on my one year at JWS. I hope there coukld be more years to spend with them!
And oh, I must add, starting today, Jollibee will be more eco-friendly! They are now replacing the plastics and styro with paper bags and boxes. Plus, every Friday, they’re not encouraging the use of straws!

Valentines Day 2011

 HAPPY VALENTINES!

This is the valentines’ gimik of JWS committee this 2011. Everyone will wear a color of their status. Since I am in a relationship and happily in love, and I want the whole JWS to know about it (lol), I wore my Pink dress from F&H with a pink cardigan from Tomato and a black shoes from SM dept. store.

I think this is like the second time that I am wearing this shoes. I didn’t appreciate it at first but then now, I’m loving it because it’s so comfy and I just bought it for 1k or so. So SULIT na din :)

Anyway, I remember this is a post about the valentines day. I just have to insert what I did wear bevause I haven’t had a shot of my outfit that day.

When I arrived at work, there’s a chocolate candy on my table from my boss. I thought it was from some admirer or something. lol to me. This is the very first gift that I received so I took it a picture thinking I would like to include this on my blog so here.

Thank you M’ Alice :)

Since it’s Valentine’s Day, I want to feature love stories from the people I know.

Let’s start with my Mommy and Daddy at my work (Mommy Eve and Daddy Churva, yes, Churva is what we call him)

During lunch break, I heard Mommy Eve crying. I didn’t know what it was until I came up to her and saw a bouquet of red roses, a frame of their collage picture and 6 packs of toblerone. I don’t know with others but for me, I really do admire their relationship. They’re on their 4th year this March 04, i guess, and they will be getting married by March 26, 2011. I asked her how were they able to know that each other they want to marry. It happened one day, they decided to have a joint account, if I was not mistaken, it was on their first year, and then that’s it. They started saving for their wedding and future.
It was unusual for other relationship to still have the love as fresh as TEENAGE love, yet Mommy and Daddy prove to us that no matter how long you are together, the sweetness, love and simple gestures of affection should not be gone instead it should grow all the more as the years pass. I love their story!

Second is M’ Carmen and her husband. Last Friday, February 11, M’ Carmen went to SM to buy a food tray, some red cartolinas and other stuffs for Valentines. She also asked to borrow my digicam. I asked her what’s her plan for the Valentines day and she told me that she’s gonna surprise her husband with a breakfast, will decorate their house with hearts all over and they’re going somewhere with their son.
Their story started 11 years ago. Yeah ELEVEN years. He was the very first boyfriend that M’ Carmen had. They were boyfriend and girlfriend for 8 years, and married for 3 years with a son. I didn’t know how that kind of relationship works but M’ Carmen and her husband prove to me that it is POSSIBLE with two people very willing and in love with each other.

Enough of the stories though. It made me cry.

If you were following my twitter and tumblr accounts, you are aware about the photography contest that was held at our office on the V-day. At first I was very willing to join, but by the end of the day, I decided not to since I got tantrums. /lol Anyway, S’ Abet did submit my entry without me knowing how. Here’s my entry:

Photo details:
Mode: Aperture
ISO 100; Aperture 5.6; Shutter Speed
Settings: Monochrome

How I did this shot? I need a planner to have a date 14 on it, and two rings which I borrowed from officemates (special thanks to Romar and M’ Eve) then I placed them on my office window where there’s a direct sunlight. Put the rings that way (as you seen in the picture) then hold the planner until it formed a perfect heart shape! :)
I had several shots but this one was what most of my friends love.

By the end of the day, they posted all the entries at our site

Well, I did not win the major prize but I did win in Best in Composition category which made me receive a Red Ribbon cake!
Thanks to all who voted for my work!

Borgy was sick since last week, so he was really not in good condition yesterday. However, he still went to my house and gave me my favorite rose ever — white rose and Kitkat, Nestle yogurt! The simple things I really love! I love you Borgy! <3

How about you? How were you able to celebrate your V-day? :)

IT’S A RED CELEBRATION!

FEBRUARY 04, 2011

It was JWS 4th Anniversary.

We are to wear a red top to commemorate this event. So what I wear is my favorite red loose polo!

Red loose polo from Forever21
Red pumps from Payless (SM Megamall)
Red nails : Face shop nail polish
Red lipstick: Nichido.

I’m loving the color red lately. I think it shouts sophistication! Gorgeousness! Sexiness!! And it pretty suits me, as for my own opinion.

I personally love the shoes I’m wearing. The moment I saw it, I knew I had to buy them!

Also, what’s a celebration without food?

Look at these four cakes! They were all from Red Ribbon, of course!

Also, we got food from none other than… JOLLIBEE! (as if i’m always excited)

The event lasted for at least two hours. We had a mass before anything else. Then the Service Leaders together with JWS head M’ Linda Castro gave their messages of gratitude to us employees.

It was just a short celebration but we all gathered together so it still ended up with sooo much fun! Didn’t I tell you how funny, awesome and great my officemates/colleagues are? VERY!

Anyway, I have to end this post already.
Happy Anniversary!!
