Serious Blogging 101

I’ve been into random blogging since college, or was it in highschool? I can hardly remember. When I say random blogging, I mean just sharing anything and everything. From food, places, personal stuff, and the list goes on.

When my friend decided to buy her own domain and go serious about blogging, I thought to myself, shall I get one?

AND if I shall get one, there’s a lot of things to consider.

First, what url to use. It’s hard to come up with something that could represent you and could speak for you and your blog. I thought of SUPERMISH.COM which I am using since I started blogging but my friends say, I have to grow up. Then I thought of just my name, MISHCORTEZ.COM since most of the bloggers I follow just use their real names as their url, but I am still not satisfied. So up until now, I’m still in search of what url to use. Let’s leave that issue behind.

Second, where shall I blog? See, I have a number of sites. Name it, you’ll see me there. From friendster, multiply, Livejpurnal, blogger, Tumblr and now wordpress.
It’s really hard to choose from a vairety of social networking sites. But this time, I guess I found my home. I am really considering wordpress since it’s very convenient. But since I need my ever great help from my ever loving boyfriend, I think I have to consider too which of the following would he be convenient customizing, right? But if I were to choose, I’ll be on WordPress

Last, what’t the theme of my blog? I can’t just be so random! Well, on this one, I guess I have come up with a final decision. I really want to put up a fashion blog. Well, for so many reasons. I love dressing up, I love taking pictures of what I wear. And of course, I need a decent fashion blog for my lookbook. I know it’s gonna be so vain of me, but who cares anyway. Let’s also consider that I have a boyfriend who can take my pictures. it’s gonna be fun collaborating with him!

I know it’s gonna be really hard. I have to be mindful of my grammar (which will be a big problem since I am not really fluent in English grammar).  I have to choose the right words, describe what I wear in a manner that my readers could easily understand. I also have to take notes of where did I get the clothes I’m wearing and tell something about them.  And the real challenge of putting up a blog is that you have to be open to criticisms.

Hmmm. help?

What I want for Christmas!

Christmas is only 9 days away and I haven’t shared my Christmas “wish” list yet! it’s time!

1. Girly Bible. 

My bible is from my Kuya pa. I really want a new one. A girly one, preferably color pink :3

2. Hello Kitty Band-aids

I’ve been wanting to buy this but i’s always out of stock! I won’t use it though. It’s just that I’m best friends with band-aids!

3.  Nail Polish!

Nail polish from Face shop, Elianto and Skin Food. Hehehe. It’s been a while since I got myself a new ail polish.

4. Etude House Dear Darling Lipstick (PK002)

My EH dear darling lipstick is sooo pudpod na. I BADLY NEED a new one! :3

5. SHEER TOP (S)

Been bugging my best friend to get me sheer tops! She promised me to give me when it’s spring time in Korea! But since most of my kind friends are here in PH, and there are sheer tops all over, I’d love to have one from you guys! I’m in love with sheer tops!

6. ACCESSORIES!

Never did I love collecting accessories, ngayon lang! Bangles, earrings, necklaces, rings, turbans!

7. John Maxwell Relationship 101 book

John Maxwell is one of my favorite authors!

Let’s give gifts this Christmas but above all things, let’s remember the reason why there’s Christmas — because there’s Christ. It’s a celebration of life, love, passion, sacrifice and mercy of God to man!

11 days to go before my birthday!

YES! I do countdown every time it gets nearer to my birthday!!

Last night, Mommy Donna gave all the October birthday celebrants a cake. I was the only celebrant present (aside from Nikk who has a separate cake from his beybs :3). So thank you mommy donna!

Mommy Donna made me blow the candle for the cake (in behalf of all Helios October celebrants!). :3

And then just today, I received an email:

It’s Jollibee’s birthday party for October celebrants!

This is what I need the most right now — things that could make me feel I’m still a girl who needs people in her like and make her feel special, that she still deserves good things. Okay emo, sorry

Tattoo Inspirations.

So I’ll be getting a tattoo pretty soon. I can’t tell you when exactly because  maarte ako. I am having a hard time deciding what to have. It’s gonna be inked on my skin forever so it has to be something I really really want — and that’s the problem. I don’t know what i really want.  The only thing I am sure of is that I’m gonna have it on my right wrist.

At first this is my choice:

I want it pink and white so it won’t be very visible and agaw-pansin. I’m gonna put “per sempre giovane e bella” which means Forever young and beautiful, but i thought it’s gonna be too long on my wrist. Then I thought of  SUPERMISH but I’m I’m gonna be super vain. Eeeer.

And then I thought of Hello Kitty bow. This is the original plan, if I haven’t seen that pink and white tattoo.  I’ve been wanting to have hk bow tattoo since i’ve been in love with Hello Kitty back in college. But thinking I’m gonna have it til I die..err, it’s not a good idea. Or is it? Gaaah.

And this is the last option I have. I always love cameras. But if this is what I’ll choose, I’ll have a smaller version. I’ll also put text which says CAPTURE EVERYTHING. I’m just scared that this might be the most painful of all, and most pricey. Booom!

So what do you think? Which of three should I have? Help me pleaaaase :3

Wish List for my Birthday!

I am all giddy during the whole month of October. When it’s your birth month, there’s just this feeling that all the things in the world will just be on your favor and that nothing could go wrong. Although that’s not the reality, of course.\

I always make a list of my birthday wishes, not that I am hoping but who knows, they’re might be someone willing to give me gifts on my special day, right? So here are the things I want to receive

1. Nail Polish (Elianto, Face Shop, Skin Food) -- Or just ordinary brand of nail polish. I haven’t bought any nail polish for months now and so I am wanting to have a new one. I’m stuck with colors red, pink, violet and yellow. Gaaah.
2. Book – Any book, really. Some novel or self-help book. The last set of books I’ve read was the Hunger Games trilogy and since then I haven’t had any book to read. So please please?
3. Hello Kitty stuff – just anything hello kitty. But if you want a more specific, then I want HK band-aids at Gift Gate. I just want thaaaaat!
4. Etude House Lipstick – pink ones. I just love EH lipstick!
5. Turbans – I’m in love with Turbans!!
6. ANNE CURTIS’ ALBUM — I really want onnnne!! please please )
7. I’ll keep this as few as possible so my last request would be…. FERRERO!!Last year was the best birthday I’ve ever had (except for my debut, of course) since my friends gave me like 30 pcs of Ferrero Rocher! I want that to happen again!

So there you go. I am not hoping, okay? But it’s better to let you know what I want, just so you want to know. Teehee!

BTW, my birthday is on the 28th of October!

Last night, i asked him a favor. I don’t have any idea kasi on how to create watermarks na may dating /lol. So I asked if he could do one for me. And since it’s one thing he’s really good at, he said okay.

He asked me what I want for my logo. Just initials SM and has supermish below. So he sent me these two.

He asked me to choose between the two. I want the heart one. He asked me if I want a cuter heart. I said okay, and if possible, put a Hello Kitty bow somewhere. hahaha. I’m addicted to it~

And ola, after just 5 minutes, he sent me this:

If you would see me now, I look soo much like Bianca Gonzales. LOL!  But seriousyl, that’s what people have been telling me. Lol again. Feel na feel ko naman bilang I super love her. I remember pa nga cutting my super long hair by the time that she cut hers. I even went to the same salon where she had her hair cut. That’s how much I idolize her. Kaya even though I am super maitim right now, okay lang kasi kamukha ko daw si Bianca. Char. Kaya thank you Summer! :p

Anyway, the reason of this post if to share you the things I did on my last summer trip. I, together with Almenario, went to Sun Valley Village, where Tita Che’s brother resides to swim. I really have no plans of swimming but the kids need company so I decided to monitor them and at the same time, teach them how to swim.

I don’t have pictures of me during that time since I was the photographer. So let me share to you the photos of the kids that I took. I love the because they follow my poses and even create their own. Too bad, Zhea wasn’t there yet during our pictorial that’s why only Yayang, Yoyong, Jasmine and Julia had their shots.

I see a lot of potential from this young girl especially in modeling! Do you know the 2011 FORD SUPERMODEL who is a Filipino? She looks almost like Julia!

See the resemblance?  I love photographing Julia because it’s so effortless for her to pose.

YAYANG  ALMENARIO

Yayang is the sweetest girl in my life. (and my favorite too!) She’s not just smart, she’s also very malambing and masunurin. She also loves and knows fashion. I think the credit goes to her mom, Tita Van, for being such a fashionista mom too!

YOYONG  ALMENARIO

Yes, magkapatid sila ni Yayang. Cool noh? Siblings named Yoyong and Yayang  This is the smartest, no, most genius kid I know. His parents would always brag about him telling the story of David and Goliath in English when he was just 2 years old. Imagine that. And he really amazes me whenever we watch Discovery Channel because he seem to know everything and he really listens.

Anyway, hindi ko naman talaga forte ang portriats kaya minsan, hindi ko talaga ma-judge yung mga kuha ko. One of the subjects that I love taking pictures of, and I think I’m better at, is flower. Whenever I’m at places where there’s flowers, excited talaga ako to shoot them. Let me share to you my works.

Thank God for camera phones!

Most of my friends would always tell me how vain I am. I had three different digital cameras (only two now since I lost my first one) because I really can’t live without them. I remember my mom asked me what I want for my Highschool graduation (digital cameras aren’t that hyped then), I told her I want a cam. So that’s how I got my first baby.

During college, I lost it. I really really cried for days. My boyfriend bought one for me because I would really not stop from crying. Thank you soo much baby! We named it nappie. It’s a canon camera which still functioning well today. Then I received a DSLR on my birthday last year!

But this is not about my camera and their shots. I was never a fan of camera phones. It’s just lately that I happened to own one. There I realized how important it is to have mobile phones with built-in cameras! In times when I don’t have my babies with me, I still can capture moments using my phone.

So let me share with you some of the shots that I happened to take with my Nokia E63.

This is the day I got my E63 phone. The first ever shot from it (Ipagpatawad nyo ang pimples ko, hahahah)

I do own a foodie blog and sometimes when I do go out, my camera’s not with me. So having a camera phone helps!

The day I got my Starbucks planner. I would not be able to blog about this (see blogpost here) if not for my camera phone!

This is the first time I saw my favorite blogger in the world. Tricia Gosingtian! I came from work and dropped by at Forever21 when Borgy told me that he saw Tricia! He told me to have a picture taken with her. My camera’s not with me by that time so I really was thankful to have a camera phone!! Yaaaay!

My first ever birthday party at Jollibee! (Chos.) Our company had this birthday celebration for the quarter celebrants. My camera’s battery was empty that time. Thank God for camera phones!

Just a little trivia for you guys.
