For you, Anne.

This is a true story.

I have an officemate who have been telling us the story of her friend who suffers from  cancer. Let’s name her Anne. She’s in her mid 20′s now. A year ago, she was diagnosed with a cancer (I just don’t know what type) on her right leg. They think that Anne got that from wounding her leg from a wood when she was a child. She didn’t bother much about it then, thinking it was nothing. But then as she grew older, the pain worsen.

It was early this year when her right leg has to be cut just to prevent the cancer cells from travelling to other parts of her body. She underwent a successful operation and all seemed to be well then.

During her operation, her boyfriend John (not his real name), flew back to Philippines for Anne. He’s working as a seaman and just asked for a sudden vacation to see Anne. When the operation was successfully done, he went back to his work.

After the operation, Anne has just underwent two chemotherapy when supposedly she already has gone through four.  She has been suffering from high fever from time to time and that hinders her to undergo chemotherapy. Aside from fever, Anne has been complaining about severe headache. They noticed that lumps started to grow on her head. She started to get bald after two chemo and now, since she has skipped two, her hair starts growing. The lumps are so visible and they were diagnosed to cause another form of cancer. My officemate was telling us how Anne was complaining constantly about the pain she feels. She even uttered: “GUSTO KO NG BUMITAW” (I want to give up already) and started crying. Her body is now a mirror of her condition. Whatever she intakes her system can no longer accept.

I just can’t imagine the pain she’s going through. It’s just too much for my imagination.

Did I also mention that she and John is getting married on January 2012? Yes. They are!

There’s this story about them two that almost brought me to tears. Before John flew back to his work abroad, they were seen together at a mall. The one who saw them asked Anne’s mom how they were able to go there, was Anne sitting on a wheelchair all day?. The answer of Anne’s mom touched me. She said that they brought nothing but the scooter with them. John carry Anne at his back all through out the day. It gave me a picture of them together, laughing, being happy and not minding the problem they’re facing — oh that’s priceless!
Anne told my officemate that she was writing their story but because of her condition, she’s having a hard time typing. She wants her story to be submitted in MMK and have Angel Locsin or KC Concepcion portray her role with Coco Martin being John. And I hope, through writing this blog, I could spread the word and help her fulfill that dream. :)

I know, I may have trespassed their privacy. But I just want the whole world to know, that there are ANNEs in the world who choose to continue to live, to be happy, to go on with life, despite of every pain they’re going through. I also want us all to be inspired through their story of love, hope and endurance. No matter how short our life could be, the important thing is, we lived it happily and meaningfully.
I also hope, that there would be JOHNs who would stick with the one they love, despite the fear of losing them anytime soon. JOHNs who would give love unconditionally, without limits, without doubts. JOHNs who would love their ANNEs with all their hearts and soul.
I also want the hearts of the parents to be touched by this story. Look at her parents. They want Anne to live longer, to see Anne fulfill her purpose in life, and yet there are some parents who choose to abandon their children. Give importance to life, to your children’s life. Take good care of them, because you are their strength. You are their hope. You are the ones they need. The ones they would cling on to when their world falls down.
AND THIS IS FOR ALL THE ANNEs out there, who’s suffering from cancer, or other illnesses. This is for you. I want you to know that you are not alone. Remember God’s purpose. Just believe in God’s purpose. In Him. In His plans. Don’t give up. Smile, because that smile, despite of all the pain, can transform lives. I love you, and I want you to know, we are here. God is up there. He’s everywhere and that you are not alone.
Guys, kindly pray for ANNE (Not her real name, but God knows who she is). Pray that she’ll survive, she’ll make it. And she’ll have a family she’s dreaming and a wedding to plan and have this January 2012.
Anne, thank you for your story. I’ll be constantly praying for you and your health. Get well soon. :)

Four Years

MAY 20, 2007

This is the day that changed my life forever. I have been in a relationship with this man for almost (it seems) like half of my life. This blogpost is very special because i am featuring our story, our lives and relationship in 4 long, happy and fun-filled years.

BEFORE THERE’s US
I met him through my friend, Lea. He’s her classmate in PUP and a good friend too. Then, I was always at their school every Tuesday since that’s my free day. i always visit her and watch basketball games held on their department. Noon, may fimmaking sila, RV ung movie. Jojo was the main character. Sa likod ko, there were boys sitting and bugging me. Hahahaha. Hindi naman sobrang kulit, pero they tried to ask my name and my number but i didn’t give it that time. I was such a snob, sorry guys. We’re all good friends now. Then one day, he texted me telling me not to be mad at Lea since kinulet lang naman daw nya ito for her to give my number. Let’s skip that and jump into this picture.

Sorry for the haggardness. Hahaha! This was taken last May 5, 2007, during Mae’s 18th birthday celebration. He was invited as one of the roses. (Since Mae used to have a crush on him too, hahaha!) But Borgy said he liked me and then started courting me. We became good friends in year 2006 but it was only on May 20, 2007 that I have decided to say yes to a relationship that I didn’t know na magiging sagot sa lahat ng gusto ko.

THE DAY.

This picture was taken at the very moment I said yes to him. We went to this grotto in Antipolo, there I said to him the 2-letter word OO that changed me in all aspects. Our story started 4 years ago, us still on our college years, with nothing in mind but our dreams and hope of being together. Noon, hindi ko pa alam kung anong meron sa future, but I took the brave step and pray that we could make it through everything.

Some highlights of our 4-year relationship

I’ll keep this blogpost short. Let me just share you some of the things that happened into my life. I can’t enumerate everything because those 4 long years seemed to be 21 years for me. Hahahah. So if I would tell you everything, this might take forever.

What we love to do

(1) I remember, we love going to Sta. Lucia just to have some Milo Ice cream with Stik-O. And since Milo is green, we themed our relationship with that color. And maybe, that would be the motif of our wedding :)

(2) Noong hindi pa sira bike nila, we would go around Marikina just to go biking. I remember hurting my butt because I’ve been sitting on the part of the bike na sobrang hirap makaupo. Pero it was all fun kasi we were looking for houses and dreaming that someday, we would build our own. :)

(3) We also love eating. During college, what we can afford was just the fast food chains we saw on the malls. Good thing, nag-levelup na kami. Hahahah. Pero mahal pa din namin ang Greenwich at Jollibee (I am not promoting anything, promise. haha)

WHERE WE HAVE BEEN TO:
There were so many places that we have been to. We love to travel. Noon pa man, we always see to it that we go out of town once there’s an opportunity.

(1) TAGAYTAY

We went to Tagaytay together with Lea and Julio. That was such an unforgettable moment because it was raining when we got there and we can hardly get to a bus since almost all was already full. We didn’t tour around Tagaytay, we just visited one to two famous landmarks. We just stayed all together in a room, enjoying each other’s company. :)

(2)SUBIC
It was summer last 2009, when we went to Subic together with Tita Van’s family. :)

(3) CEBU

First plane ride together.
Just last March, we’ve been to Cenu together with his siblings. Click here to see my blogpost :)

PEOPLE WHO TOOK PART ON OUR RELATIONSHIP

(1) TITA VAN TITO LEO YAYANG YOYONG

Most part of our relationship, we’ve shared with this family. I can never thank them enough for every thing that they have done to us. They were our second parents, and the two kids were our kids too! hahahaha. I love them so much! We always find time to visit them though lately, due to work loads, we seldom do so. :( But really, thanks tita and tito for everything! We love you!

(2)OUR FRIENDS

To my HS friends who have been there to hang-out with us, you made our relationship stronger. Yung iba, naiilang to bring theri boyfriends and girlfriends on a barkada gimik, pero ako, you made me feel comfortable to bring him with us. Minsan pa nga, mas close na kayo. Hahaha.

To his HS friends, I may not have been a part of your highschool life but still you became happy for us. thank you so much for making me feel welcome too. Kay Gerby na naging super kakulitan ko, miss na kita at si nikka ;p

To my college friends, thank you because you were there when we had our toughest times. Salamat sa banchetto experience natin with Borgy. RR, magpasalamat ka na may kausap ka kapag nagdadrive ka. :p

To his college friends, guys, I don’t know how I could thank you. I am so grateful that you became my friends too. You were all sweet! Lalo na sila Glenn, Adrian, Ruby at Riza. Miss ko na kayo!
(3) OUR FAMILY
To his family, Almenario family at sa mga kapatid nyang lagi akong inaapi, hahahaha! Salamat po sa pagtanggap sa akin :) Salamat kay Nanay Inyang, dahil hindi po ako natakot magkiss at magbless sa inyo. Hehehe. They say if there’s one person na kinatatakutan ng lahat ng babae o lalaki na naging part ng life ng mga apo, si Nanay inyang yun buy I am happy to say, na I felt very comfortable with you Nay. Mahal ko po kayo ;)
To his parents na magaling magluto! Kay Tita Let, for always smiling at me whenever I’m there, thank you Tita :)
Kay Tito Gilbert, na super palabiro at super machika, thank you po. Idol ko po kayo :)
To his siblings na lagi akong inaapi, BLEEEEEH! hahaha. I love you guys. You made our relationship stronger. I believe, without your love and support to us, we can’t reach this point. Thank you sa pang-aasar, because of that, I feel like I belong :p
To my family, thank you po because the first day that Borgy and I have been together, hindi ko inilihim. Thank you because nagtiwala kayo sa akin, sa amin and we promise not to break that trust.
To my parents, they say na parents always know the best for their children and I saw that in your eyes, you see that Borgy is the right one for me. Salamat kasi sa tuwing nag-aaway kami, ako ang pinagagaitan nyo. Hahaha. That’s just a manifestation that you really love him so much for me. And I will always hold on to that.
Thank you din sa mga Kuya ko at sa Ate ko, na sa sobrang tapang nyo, akala ko aatras si Borgy.
To Kuya Sonny, for having that one-on-one talk with him. I know that you have given your blessing to us ;)
(4)God, thank you so much for giving me a man whom became so perfect for me. He’s everything that could match on my personality. Thank you, because though I didn’t ask for one, you gave it to me because you know more what I need. Salamat Lord, masaya po ako ngayon :)
(5)ONE AND ONLY XIZS AND HIS ONE AND ONLY KAMBAL
At syempre, to the one who have been the way for us to be together, my beautiful bestfriend Lea, thank you for making a way for us to meet. Aside from God and my parents, I know you also know the best for me. So I trusted you when you let him texted me. Without you, all of these may have been impossible. We also wish you the same happiness that we are having right now. Soon :)

And to you, my one and only, thank you so much for the love and everything. Sa dami ng nagawa ko, you were still there, loving me without any conditions. I can’t say anything but gratefulness!! I love you so much and Happy Anniversary! I love you!

WEDDING OF THE YEAR!

I love weddings!

Last Saturday I attended a wedding of one of my close friends at work — Mommy Eve. I’ve been telling you guys about this since my Valentine’s post. Hahaha.

WHAT I WORE (Oh gosh, I’ve missed this!)

Dress from Landmark which I bought 4 years ago and still fits me well /lol
Shoes from Payless
Bag Fereragamo (Celine’s)

THE CHURCH

San Felipe Church, Mandaluyong PH

This is one of the few beautiful churches I’ve been to — and it’s quite large too!
I didn’t get the chance to take pictures that are good because there were too many people wanting to see the couple and have their own shots. Add the fact that I’m wearing heels so I really was having a hard time running from one angle to another! Hahaha! So bear with the pictures I’ve happen to take.
WEDDING’S MOTIF

Mommy Eve loves blue so that’s their wedding motif. :)
THE GROOM
Sherwin Galos and his parents
THE BRIDE

Evelyn Roman and her parents
SAYING “I DO” and laying the VOWS

This is the part wherein I really feel so kilig. It has to come from the heart and you will see through their eyes that they really mean what they say! I feel like crying!

I wasn’t able to take a picture of them wearing the rings because there’s this annoying girl who keeps on blocking me!! I took her a picture but you know, I don’t want to post it here HAHAHA (i’m not that mean!)
THE FIRST SACRED (LEGAL) KISS

I know, that at the present generation, kiss is not an issue anymore. But I still believe that our first kiss with our loved ones was nothing compared to the FIRST SACRED KISS by the time the priest/pastor told you so. PRICELESS!

Congratulations to both of you!!
THE RECEPTION

Makati Park & Garden
The place was beautiful too plus the weather is great. I love the food especially the Korean Pork Barbecue!
THE CAKE

This is what I’ve had that night

Carbonara, rice, blue marlin fish fillet with lemon butter sauce and my favorite Korean Pork Barbecue!

The salad which was supposed to be a veggie salad. HAHAHA. Sorry I hate vegies so you won’t see any! There was this white sauce, I asked Vince what was it coz I don’t have any idea. When he told me it was a condensed milk, I put a large amount on my plate. When I tasted it it’s MAYONNAISE! I hate you Vincent! I wasn’t able to finish it!

COUPLE DANCE

I love to see the smiles in their faces. I wonder how they feel right at this very moment.
DANCE WITH PARENTS
The couple had the chance to dance with their parents. They all cried when they give their messages to one another. Nothing can beat that. Everyone was so emotional, including me!
THE MONEY DANCE

It’s a wedding tradition (or not) to have a money dance for a life of prosperity (or just to compensate for all the expenses, hahaha!) They both look very happy oh. hahahah.

A LITTLE TWIST

Different from the traditional garter and flower toss, their version has a little twist. For the guys, they formed a circle and will pass the garter around. A song will be played and will be stopped three times. Whoever holds the garter by the time the song stops, he will be included on the final game.
For the girls, there were 11 of us. The bride will throw 11 flowers and the girls will pick whatever flower they could get. There were three flowers with stickers on them saying “you’ve got it”. Thank God I didn’t get one!
On the final game, there were three pairs. The girls will pick theree chocolate kisses using their mouths and will pass it on the guys. The guys has to eat up all the chocolate kisses and whoever finishes first wins. The winners will also receive 500 pesos so you know how much Sol ranted when she lost. Hindi sya makaget-over! HAHAHA!

Who’s gonna be next in line? :)

Mommy and Churva,
I admire you both. Your love for one another is so genuine and priceless. All the best wishes in the world is what I wish for you. As I am composing this blogpost, Tamia’s song entitled STILL is being played on the background. As what the song says, I hope the same goes with both of you — that you’ll grow more in love with each other as time passes by. Your love will always be refreshed and that you won’t grow tired and weary for each other. Be each other’s best friend, raise your future kids well and be the best parents that you can be!
Here’s the video of the song (with lyrics)

FYI, I’m not the official photographer. /lol

Marriage is one brave choice.

I received an email a week ago and it really touched my heart so I want to share this to you.

Her name is Katie Kirkpatrick, 21 years old. Next to her is her fiancé, Nick, 23. This picture was taken prior to their wedding on January 11, 2005. Katie has terminal cancer and spends hours in chemotherapy. Nick waits while she finishes on of the sessions.

Even in pain and dealing with her organs gradually shutting down, with the help of morphine, Katie took care of every single part of the wedding planning. Her dress had to be adjusted several times due to Katie’s constant weight loss.

Katie had to use an oxygen tank during the ceremony and at the reception. The other couple in this picture is Nick’s parents, very emotional and happy to see their son marrying the girl he fell in love with when he was an adolescent.

Katie, in a wheel chair listening to her husband and friends singing to her.

In the middle of the party, Katie had to rest and to catch her breath. The pain does not allow her to stand for long period of time.

Katie died 5 days after her wedding. To see a fragile woman dress as a bride wearing a beautiful smile makes us all think that happiness is always within reach, no matter how long it lasts. Let’s enjoy life and don’t live a complicated life.

This email really brought me to tears. Whenever I hear wedding stories, I can’t be anything but happy for them. This story really proves us that marrying someone is a decision made out of love and selflessness. He didn’t think that he’ll only have a short married life with Katie. He sticks with her and marries her even though he knows that anytime soon, he’ll be left alone. His love for the Katie made him brave enough to marry her despite people’s criticisms.

I hope we can still see marriage as it is — not a forced one, not a made-up one, but a very sacred thing that God created.

Tomorrow, I’ll be attending a friend’s wedding. I’ve already featured their story here (Click this to see blogpost). Marriage is such a strong decision – thinking that you’ll be with that person every time you wake up and every time you sleep. Love keeps you alive, it keeps you hanging into life.

I love weddings! I’m so excited to see one of my friends marry the guy she loves. They say, each of us has some-kind-of a soulmate and no one could tell us who would that be but our hearts. Hopefully, we can all find our own other-better-half.

God bless guys and remember, put God in the center of everything!

Love love and love!

My 2010.

THIS HAS TO BE THE SUPER LATE POST FOR 2010.

OKAY. So why late? I forgot about this post since I haven’t browsed my journal until now. I’m writing things that I will blog about and this includes my 2010 life.

So many things happened in a span of a year, hence making 2010 the best year of my life so far. Well because most of the exciting to thrilling moments of my life happened this 2010. So let’s start.

MARCH
This month of 2010, I experienced to apply for a job for the very first time — at JP Morgan and Chase. That’s an international company located at BGC. Being a BGC lover that I am, I always love to see myseld working there so as soon as JP Morgan went to our school for the job fair, I sent my resume. I got two consecutive interviews in a span of two months but by the time they offered me the job, I am already employed at my current workplace.

APRIL

After having bad dreams about me not graduating for my college degree for my subjects like PE and Social Studies (yea, my dreams are just as crazy) , finally I got a grip on my diploma last April 16, 2010. I was so thankful back then that after all the procastinations during my college life, my pasaway moments on my high school life and a very blurry ones during elementary year, finally i have come to the finish line. This marks another success as on how my parents see it. Thank You Lord for letting me pass :)

Me and my SC Friends on graduation

Naiisip ko palang na hindi ko na sila makakasama sa kalokohan, naiiyak na ako. Pero syempre mas nakakaiyak naman kung hindi kayo gagraduate di ba? /LOL
Anyway, I’m still glad with where fate took us. I guess we are all happy. :)

MAY

May is the month that I always look forward to — for one reason — OUR ANNIVERSARY. This May 2010 was our 3rd year anniversary and I am just glad that we are getting stronger (though sometimes really rocky) I love you baby. :)

Too bad for me, I don’t have any picture of us during our anniversary celebration. Oh well.

JULY
After several applications and waiting for the other companies to call me back, finally Jollibee Worldwide Services (JWS), a part of JFC, called me for an interview. It was on the 1st day of July that I had my first work. I’m happy because as we all know, Jollibee is a big company. One that is stable and really profiting. So I really took the opportunity to be part of this.

OCTOBER
This is my favorite month of the year (not for sentimental reasons) but because this is my birth month. Is it just me or it’s really fun counting down month, weeks, and days til your birthday. It’s my first time to celebrate it with more than 10 people. Usually, it’s just me and my family and Borgy. Now, my officemates were all there to greet me and sing me a happy birthday! I was really happy and overwhelmed with all their messages and greetings. They gave me cake and my friends gave me sooo many Ferrero Rocher chocolates (that’s the only thing I wished for my birthday!!)

Their gift for me! Chocolate cake and FERREROOO!!

So far, this is my happiest birthday. Also, Me and Borgy had lunch together. So that’s a plus to my happiness. The receptionist on our floor handed me an envelope and look what I’ve got..

My Citi Bank Credit Card. So that’s a plus plus plus! I used it agad at Pancake House! After a month, I’ll be receiving a free phone which until now, I havem’t receive yet. Tssss.

Borgy also gave me a 3 white roses!! WHITE ROSES!! Oh my! My favorite flower. I’m just so happy! <3

Also in October, CPA Board exam results have been posted. And guess what, almost all of my batchmates passed! Congrats! :)

On October 29, 2010, I finally got my dream since then — NIKON DSLR D3000!!
Not that I dream exactly of D3000 (Of course I want a higher version LOL) but im very contented na with this one since all SLRs naman can be modified thru lenses (which i’m currently tempted to have)
I named her Cisi. I don’t know, I just thought of the name once I decided to have one. Reasonless.

Here is Cisi!!
Got to say hello for future great shots. (I have to learn ADOBE by 2011!!)

NOVEMBER
After two weeks since my birthday, it’s gonna be Borgy and Lea’s! The three of us went to MOA on November 09 so we could be all together on the first second of Nov 10! :) I love them! They are the two most precious people in my life (non-family member LOL)

Borgy is 22 this year while Lea is 21.

On NOV10, I filed a half-day at my office so I could spend the day with Borgy. We ate lunch at The Racks.

I bet he’s so happy with my gift for him! :)

DECEMBER
This has to be the busiest month of my 2010.

On December 09, 2010, I attented for the first time the JWS Christmas party (which I blogged about) with GLEE musical as its theme.

On the 16th, another Christmas party from JWS-Financial and Accounting II team (which i also blogged).

25th, was the Christmas day celebration with my family and bogs.

After Christmas, I get to see my SC friends again!

HAPPY 2010!
